রুপমের হয়ে প্রতিবাদ পাঠালেন স্ত্রী রুপসা দাসগুপ্ত
ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্যের রাজধানী কলকাতার সঙ্গীতশিল্পী রুপম ইসলাম বাংলাদেশ এবং বাংলাদেশের মানুষকে নিয়ে কুরুচিপূর্ণ বক্তব্য সম্বলিত ফেসবুক স্ট্যাটাস দিয়েছেন- এমন সংবাদের প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছেন তার স্ত্রী রুপসা দাসগুপ্ত।
রুপসার দাবি, স্ট্যাটাসটি বাংলাদেশি ব্যান্ড মাইলসের ড্রামারের তার সম্পর্কে অবমাননাকর এক ফেসবুক স্ট্যাটাস দেয়ার প্রতিক্রিয়ায় রুপম ওমন স্ট্যাটাস দিয়েছিলেন। তার লক্ষ্য ছিল ব্যক্তি, কোনোভাবেই সমগ্র বাংলাদেশিদের নয়।
মাইলসের ওই ড্রামারের সঙ্গে বিরোধের এক পর্যায়ে ম্যাক হক (ফিডব্যাক ও বর্তমানের ঢাকা ব্যান্ডের মাকসুদুল হক) নিজ থেকে দুঃখ প্রকাশ করেছেন বলে রুপসা দাস উল্লেখ করেছেন।
রুপসা দাসের প্রতিবাদটি হুবহু তুলে ধরা হলো-
This news about Rupam Islam on your website is biased and one sided. Rupam had very clearly shared a picture of a status by the drummer of the Bangladeshi Band MILES and then written the status he had written. The entire status was towards that particular man and the people who had liked his status.
The only reason Rupam had given that status was because this drummer had abused his wife, and I hope you will agree with me that no Man who is Man enough shall keep quite when his wife is abused.
Incidentally I am Rupam’s wife and also his manager and hence I am writing this email to you.
Rupam deleted the status after Mac Haque personally applogised to both Rupam and me on behalf of the drummer openly on facebook. Please see the attached file for details.
I hope you do not support yellow journalism and shall be kind enough to take down the news.
Rupam in fact had even cleared everything in his recent status which you seem to have over-looked, This is what his recent status reads –
‘It seems my status yesterday aiming at one particular person whose status I had shared while writing the comment and the people who had commented on that status has not gone well with an entire nation and news portals have distorted facts and published false half truth reports. My status was aimed at only that one person and the people who had liked and commented on that status and NOT towards a particular nationality as a whole. The reason I had written the status was because the person in question, a well-known musician had abused my wife.
